Numerous unmet medical needs exist in the field of neuroscience.  NuPathe’s primary areas of focus include migraine, movement disorders (Parkinson's disease, RLS and medication-induced movement disorders),  schizophrenia, and cognitive disorders. Existing products for these conditions provide suboptimal solutions - either poor efficacy or significant adverse effects for a substantial number of patients.

NuPathe believes that many medical needs can be addressed by applying novel delivery or formulation technology to existing compounds. Other medical needs require the development of new, more effective or better tolerated compounds. To build it’s portfolio, NuPathe licenses or acquires innovative drug candidates and drug delivery technologies from universities and/or other companies. The NuPathe team applies it’s development expertise to optimizes the drug candidates and delivery technologies to effectively address the unmet needs in a given market.
